PURPOSE:
To consider accepting Federal Forfeiture Funds in fiscal year 2023 from the U.S. Justice and U.S. Treasury agencies for drug forfeiture; and to appropriate these funds into the Law Enforcement Confiscated Monies Fund; and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Dekalb County Police Department receives drug forfeiture (equitable share) funds throughout the year from the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Treasury. This agenda item allows for the acceptance of these funds for the year 2023.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To authorize the acceptance of all forfeited funds and authorize the CEO to sign any necessary documents in a form approved by the County Attorney.
