PURPOSE:
Pursuant to Section 13A of the DeKalb County Organizational Act, the Georgia Hospitals Authority Law, O.C.G.A. § 31-7-70 et seq., and local law, 1969 Ga. Laws 3611, Section 1, codified in the Code of DeKalb County, Georgia, as Revised 1988 as Appendix B, Article IX, Section 401, CEO Cochran-Johnson nominates Rev. Dr. James Todd Speed to Post 1 of the DeKalb County Hospital Authority. Post 1 is currently vacant. The term associated with Post 1 began on September 19, 2024 and expires September 18, 2028. The DeKalb County Hospital Authority has vetted Rev. Dr. Speed and recommends him as the appointee.
NEED/IMPACT:
The DeKalb County Hospital Authority is authorized to oversee the Emory Decatur Hospital (previously known as DeKalb General and then DeKalb Medical) and the Emory Hillendale Hospital (previously known as Hillendale Hospital).
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the County.
