PURPOSE:

Record the appointment of Roseanne Blakeney to the DeKalb County Women’s Commission as the City of Doraville appointee.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The DeKalb County Women’s Commission is important because it ensures that the diverse voices, experiences, and needs of women and girls are formally represented in county decision-making. The Commission serves as an advisory body to county leadership on critical issues such as healthcare disparities, wage inequity, safety, economic opportunity, and quality of life, making representative appointments essential to informed and equitable policy recommendations. By design, the Commission brings together members from various appointing authorities and encourages diversity across race, age, socioeconomic status, and professional sectors, strengthening its ability to identify systemic challenges and propose inclusive solutions.
