PURPOSE:
Consider approving a contract between DeKalb County and New American Pathways, Inc., a nonprofit organization, to implement the MIECHV Program as designed. This program provides critical support services to expectant parents, children from birth to age five, and their families, aligning with the County's commitment to early childhood development and family well-being; to authorize disbursements and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents; to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all the necessary documents.

NEED/IMPACT:
The Board of Commissioners previously approved Agenda Item #2024-1414, accepting $877,856 in funding from the Georgia Department of Public Health to support the DeKalb Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program. Of this amount, $330,511 has been designated for New American Pathways, Inc.
New American Pathways, Inc. will deliver services using the Parents as Teachers (PAT) Foundational Curriculum, an evidence-based home visiting model designed to improve child and family outcomes-especially among vulnerable populations. The organization will provide developmental and health screenings, facilitate group connections to community resources, and serve 105 at-risk families residing in DeKalb County.
