PURPOSE:

Record the appointment of Dr. Gerald D. Austin, Sr. to the SPLOST II Residents Review Committee as a Chief Executive Officer appointee.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The citizens of DeKalb have imposed upon themselves a special sales tax and expect SPLOST II funds to be allocated as previously approved by the Governing Authority in the Resolution dated August 24, 2023, authorizing the SPLOST II Referendum. This committee will provide accountability and transparency to all DeKalb citizens. It builds public trust in DeKalb County which will be essential for future SPLOST referendums that must be approved by voters.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

No cost to the County.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To record the appointment of Dr. Gerald D. Austin, Sr. to the SPLOST II Residents Review Committee as a Chief Executive Officer appointee for a term concurrent with the term of Chief Executive Officer Cochran-Johnson.
