PURPOSE:
Awarded by the BOC on October 28, 2025, for an amount not to exceed $470,689.28. This contract consists of the installation of a new traffic signal with mast arms at the intersection of Redan Road and South Stone Mountain Lithonia Road. Railroad pre-emption will be established in coordination with work being done separately by CSX Transportation. The work also includes milling and resurfacing of the roadway at the intersection. This initiative enhances intersection safety, manages heavy traffic volumes, and facilitates the safe and orderly movement of vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. This request seeks increase in contract term through March 31, 2027, due to delays in the construction of the railroad and ratifying previous term increase.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Recommend approval of Change Order No. 1 with:
NGT Group LLC 5665 Shirlee Industrial Way, Alpharetta, GA 30518
and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the change order and all associated documents.
