PURPOSE:
The Planning Commission is comprised of 9 members. One member is jointly appointed by the Board of Commissioners. Robert Godfrey resigned that position in January.
NEED/IMPACT:
Mr. West is the Program Manager of Local and Intergovernmental Planning with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. He is a certified planner (AICP) with the American Planning Association and has served on the DeKalb Planning Commission. He is recommended to this position by current members of the Planning Commission for 6 years. He has worked for the Collaborative Firm and other consultants. He is a member of the Chattahoochee Basin Advisory Council and he is a government liaison for the American Red Cross.
