PURPOSE:
To approve an appropriation of $25,000 from the America Rescue Plan grant funds assigned to the account reserved for District 7 to DeKalb County nonprofits and organizations for the purpose of providing rent, mortgage and utility assistance to mitigate the public health emergency created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

NEED/IMPACT:
As DeKalb County and the U.S. are now in post-COVID, many constituents are still in need of food, utility, rent and mortgage assistance. DeKalb County residents, including children and youth in the DeKalb County School District, are in need of educational programming to mitigate the negative impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic that are still ongoing.

FISCAL IMPACT:
To appropriate an amount not to exceed $25,000 from POETA Account #105744.63258.521209.01.07.602479 to DeKalb County nonprofits and organizations to provide food assistance, utility assistance, rent and mortgage assistance, programming and other ARP eligible uses to DeKalb County residents to mitigate the public health emergency created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
