PURPOSE:

To consider approving the donation of two used 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycles - unit numbers 12157 and 12162 valued at $9,300 each. 

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The DeKalb County Police Department received a request from the Lithonia Police Department to donate two used motorcycles, to enhance the law enforcement services that they provide to their citizens. Due to the age of these vehicles, they were taken out of service and replaced with updated models. The motorcycles are currently scheduled to go to auction in October 2021.

 

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

These vehicles (value $9,300 each are currently in Fleet Management’s surplus inventory due to age. No additional costs are involved in releasing these vehicles.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the donation and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents for the donation of these vehicles to the Lithonia Police Department.
