PURPOSE:
Pursuant to Section 13A of the DeKalb County Organizational Act and state law related to the creation of county boards of tax assessors (O.C.G.A. § 48-5-290), CEO Cochran-Johnson nominates Ms. Kathleen A. Andres to Post 4 of the DeKalb County Board of Tax Assessors for a term that expires December 31, 2027. Post 4 is currently vacant and was previously held by Mr. James Vernor.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Board of Assessors is the agency charged with the responsibility of establishing the fair market value of property for ad valorem taxation purposes.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the County.
