PURPOSE:

To consider approval of Lease Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 531981 with Flightway One, LLC; and to consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.

 

 

NEED/IMPACT:
The County executed County Contract No. Contract No. 531981 with Flightway One, LLC, on December 20, 2004.  Lease Amendment No. 1 was negotiated in accordance with the DeKalb County Code and accomplishes the following in part:  Improvements and alterations made to the Leased Property by the Lessee to bring the fuel facility up to code so that it can be operational. Provides for the closure of the existing underground storage tank and the installation of a new above ground fuel system.  Approving Lease Amendment No. 1 to County Contract No. 531981 will benefit the County and the Airport and inure to the public interest as follows:  Improved capital improvements made to County premises will provide for additional users. Additional users will increase the amount of fuel and sales tax paid to the County.  The County Attorney has reviewed the document and approved it as to form.  The original documents are in Purchasing and Contracting Department.   

 

FISCAL IMPACT:
The Lease Agreement with Flightway One, LLC is a twenty-year revenue generating initiative which inures to the public interest.

To approve Lease Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 531981 with Flightway Drive, LLC and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents.
