PURPOSE:
Pursuant to Section 13A of the DeKalb County Organizational Act and O.C.G.A. § 49-3-2, CEO Cochran-Johnson nominates Shelly Bishop for appointment to Post 2 of the DeKalb County Board of Family and Children Services for the remainder of a five (5) year term expiring on June 30, 2030. Ms. Bishop will replace Mr. Gary Yandura, who previously served in Post 2.
NEED/IMPACT:
The purpose of the DeKalb County Board of Family and Children Services is to act as a liaison between the County Department and the local community and to protect the well-being of the children while preserving family integrity. The Board reviews the administration of all welfare and public assistance functions for the County, including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), employment services, child protective services, foster care, and adoptions.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the County.
