PURPOSE:

Consists of the five (5) year purchase of truck scale maintenance and repair services on an as-needed basis for nine (9) truck scales at the County’s Central Transfer Station, North Transfer Station, and Seminole Road Landfill locations. These services are essential for the ongoing operation of truck scales, and, since the truck scales are used to determine the quantity of refuse delivered to the respective facilities, the ongoing maintenance of these truck scales is needed. Fairbanks Scales, Inc. is the direct manufacturer and service provider for the Atlanta area, namely Fairbanks Scales Atlanta Area Customer Service Center, for maintenance and repair services. Utilizing the direct service provider would be more advantageous to the County because it would promote both fiscal responsibility and operational reliability, which can help reduce costs, streamline communication, and ensure more efficient service delivery.
