PURPOSE:
*To consider approving the FY21 and FY23 Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN): Community Policing Microgrant awards, and
*To consider accepting $36,963.00 ($744.00 for FY21 and $36,219 for FY23), from the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) and appropriating that amount to the Grant Fund for spending in compliance with the grantor's requirements, and
*To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all the necessary documents.

NEED/IMPACT:
PSN is a nationwide network designed to create safer neighborhoods by reducing crime, gang and gun violence and sustaining that reduction. Grant funds will be utilized to support DKPD's Initiative #1 - Gun Safety, a key component of DKPD's response to community violence. Specifically, funding from these awards will be used to purchase and distribute gun safes to promote responsible gun ownership and reduce gun-related incidents within the community.
