PURPOSE:
To allocate $13,150 from District 2 Capital Reserves for improvements at Frazier Rowe Park
NEED/IMPACT:
The requested allocation is needed to complete the Rainbow Bridge Memorial project at Frazier Rowe Park, a community-led initiative that will provide a dedicated space for residents to honor beloved pets while enhancing the park experience for visitors. The project is a collaborative effort between Girl Scout Troop 24071, Friends of Frazier Rowe Park, and DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs (RPCA), with the troop already contributing fundraising, volunteer labor, landscaping, signage, and decorative improvements valued at approximately $8,400, while RPCA is providing staff support and materials. The requested District 2 funding will cover the remaining project components, including site preparation, construction and installation of the Rainbow Bridge Memorial, signage posts, and a soft-surface pathway, ensuring the successful completion of a meaningful and lasting community amenity that has broad stakeholder support and will serve park visitors for years to come.
