PURPOSE:

To request an operational audit of the DeKalb County Watershed Department to ensure operational finances and opportunities to maximize efficiencies, program and operational effectiveness, compliance with environmental regulations, community engagement and outreach, and recommendations for improvements.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

 The DeKalb County Watershed Management Department currently services over 5,000 miles of water and wastewater pipes in the county system. Rate increases are crucial to ensure the capabilities of our water and sewer systems over time can continue to achieve safe, reliable service to all residents. It is equally as crucial that DeKalb County remains dedicated to being responsible stewards of resources and maximizing the value of every dollar spent. An operational audit is a crucial tool that has the opportunity to identify inefficiencies that can lead to cost savings and better service delivery.
