PURPOSE:
To appropriate $10,000 from the 2026 District 2 Reserve for Appropriation for the Boys to Men
(BTM) & Girls to Pearls (GTP) Summer Camp.
NEED/IMPACT:
In the summer of 2021, the BTM camp opened with two one-week sessions consisting of 15
male youths in each session. In the success of the camp, in the summer of 2022, the GTP portion
was added also consisting of 15 young girls to the one-week long camp. In the summer of 2023,
with such positive feedback and public interest for the program, they were able to offer a month-long
camp to 18 young boys and 18 young girls free of charge to the youth of DeKalb County,
GA. This allocation will support the 6th annual BTM & CTP summer camp experience, allowing DeKalb youth
to attend free of charge.
FISCAL IMPACT:
An allocation not to exceed $10,000 from the District 2 Reserve for Appropriation (00202.579002.100.0000.0000)
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
To approve the allocation and authorize the Chief Executive Officer or her designee to execute all necessary documents.
