PURPOSE:

A request to accept the Joint Policy Statement by the Governing Authority of DeKalb County, Georgia, which establishes a proactive framework to address the chronic issue of illegal scrap tire dumping. 

 

NEED/IMPACT:

DeKalb County recognizes that illegal scrap tire dumping and other egregious littering are plaguing residential neighborhoods and business districts across the County. To ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all residents, the Governing Authority is shifting from a reactive cleanup posture to a proactive framework built on three foundational pillars: A United Front on Legislative Advocacy, Strategic Resource Allocation, and Enhanced Accountability and Stakeholder Collaboration.
