PURPOSE:
The purpose of this agenda item is to consider the approval of election boundary changes. Under Section 9(7) of the Organizational Act, the Commissioners must adopt precinct boundary changes.
NEED/IMPACT:
• Adjust the Livsey Elem and Tucker precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters annexed into the City of Tucker.
• Adjust the Livsey Elem and Midvale Elem precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters within the City of Tucker.
• Adjust the Midvale Road and Midvale Elem precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters within the City of Tucker.
• Adjust the Pleasantdale Road and Tucker precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters within the City of Tucker.
• Adjust the Embry Hills and Tucker precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters within the City of Tucker.
• Adjust the Midvale Road and Evansdale Elem boundary lines to relieve Midvale Road in anticipation of colocation of Henderson Mill Elem voters.
• Adjust the Rehoboth and Montreal precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters within the City of Tucker.
• Adjust the Margaret Harris Ed and Woodward precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters annexed into the City of Brookhaven.
• Adjust the Johnson Estates and Emory South precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters annexed into the City of Atlanta.
• Adjust the McNair Academy and East Lake precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters annexed into the City of Atlanta.
• Adjust the McNair and East Lake precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters annexed into the City of Atlanta.
• Adjust the Robert Shaw Elem, Indian Creek Elem and Clarkston precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters annexed into the City of Clarkston.
• Adjust the Robert Shaw and McLendon precinct boundary lines to make a contiguous precinct area following City of Clarkston annexation.
• Adjust the Rock Chapel Road and Princeton Elem precinct boundary lines to separate unincorporated voters from voters incorporated into the City of Stonecrest.
In order to satisfy State Election Law Requirements and Timelines, the Registration and Elections Director has published notice of this matter in the county legal organ.
The Board of Registrations and Elections approved these changes on various dates.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact is associated with the aforementioned changes.
