PURPOSE:

To consider the attached Resolution, Order and Declaration of Taking for acquisition of certain right of way and temporary easement in Parcel 19 (Owner:  First United Methodist Church of Tucker, Inc.) needed for the Tucker Streetscape, Phase II Project (“the Project”); and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The condemnation will enable the County to include the subject property in the Project to construct a sidewalk along Fourth Street from Railroad Avenue to Lavista Road.  The required property interests are valued at $58,700.00 and a certified letter has been sent to the property owner.

 

The County Attorney has reviewed the attached documents and approves as to form. 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The fiscal impact to DeKalb County is $58,700.00.  The funding source is Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) funds.

Adopt the attached Resolution, Order and Declaration of Taking for acquisition of certain fee simple right of way and easements in Parcel 19 (Owner:  First United Methodist Church of Tucker, Inc.)- needed for the “Tucker Streetscape Project, Phase II”; and                                                                                                           To Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
