PURPOSE:
To Approve 2018 Medicare Rates
NEED/IMPACT:
Medicare plan year expires on December 31, 2017. To ensure the County is offering an affordable and valuable health plan for retirees.
The proposed Medicare insurance premiums would result in a 0% increase in the County contribution for 2018. The Finance Department recommends approving the 2018 Medicare rates as outlined below.

Recommended Action
1. Approve Aetna’s proposed 2018 Medicare rate of $242.61 which is a 0% increase for participant. 2. Approve Kaiser Permanente’s proposed 2018 Medicare rate of $240.01 which is a 0% increase for participant. 3. Approve United Concordia’s 2018 Dental rates with a 6.9% increase.
