PURPOSE:
•To consider approving the 2015 Metro Atlanta Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to receive project equipment; and
•To consider accepting project equipment purchased by UASI on behalf of the DeKalb County Police Department and the DeKalb County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), in the amount of $74,686.89; and
•To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
This MOU governs the use of purchases and equipment provided by UASI to assist the DeKalb County Police Department and the DeKalb EMA to implement programs designed to prevent, protect, respond, and recover from threats of or acts of terrorism and to build capabilities that enhance homeland security. This equipment will support law enforcement operations, the interoperability program, and sustain existing capabilities of the Web-based Emergency Operations Center.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This grant requires no match contributions. No positions will be created with this funding.
