PURPOSE:
To consider adopting a home rule ordinance amending the Pension Code of DeKalb County, Georgia, to change the plan year to January 1 through December 31 (from April 1 through March 31) so that it will match the county’s fiscal year.
NEED/IMPACT:
To align the plan year under the Pension Code to match DeKalb County’s fiscal year.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Adopt the attached home rule ordinance for the first time to amend the DeKalb County Pension Code (1962 Ga. Laws 3088, codified in Appendix B of the Code of DeKalb County, Georgia, as amended), to change the plan year to January 1 through December 31, effective January 1, 2018. Then put this home rule ordinance on the agenda for the next regular meeting for a second adoption.
