PURPOSE:
To consider approval of the official retirement and sale of K-9 Tico to his handler for the sum of $1.00; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
K-9 Tico began his service to the County in March 2010. During the past 7 years Tico and his handler, Officer R. Carrigan have performed exemplary work for the Police Department and the citizens of Dekalb County. Due to various health issues and concerns, he has reached a point in his career of retirement to his handler Officer R. Carrigan.
FISCAL IMPACT:
To transfer ownership of Tico at a cost of $1.00 to his handler.
