PURPOSE:
Pursuant to 13A of the Organizational Act where “The chief executive shall nominate a person by sending a written notice to the commission,” CEO Thurmond is nominating Ms. Vivian R. Ingersoll for reappointment onto the DeKalb County Board of Assessors. This is a six (6) year term which would begin January 1, 2018 and expire December 31, 2023.
NEED/IMPACT:
Mrs. Ingersoll has served the DeKalb County Board of Assessors admirably since January, 1994 and as stipulated in O.C.G.A. 48-5-292 (a) can “be reappointed to succeed [her] self as a member of the board” which she desires. As a community leader with professional experience in public finance, Mrs. Ingersoll is well-qualified to assist the board with the responsibility of establishing the fair market value of property for ad valorem taxation purposes.
