PURPOSE:
The purpose of the grant is to help this agency build and enhance capabilities to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters and other emergencies in accordance with the goals and objectives of the State Strategic Plan.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Georgia Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded the DeKalb Fire Rescue Department with the FY2017 Homeland Security Sub-Grant. Enclosed is the Recipient/Sub-recipient agreement for funding awarded to this agency by the Georgia Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security Agency (GEMHSA).
Through this program, local agencies can improve on implementation of the National Preparedness systems by supporting the building, sustainment and delivery of core capabilities essential to achieving preparedness.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No cost to the county.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Accept the Georgia Department of Homeland Security (DHS) grant awarded by the Georgia Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security Agency (GEMHSA), and authorize the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department to execute the grant. Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
