PURPOSE:
To consider approval of a Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant in the amount of $194,001 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) of the Solicitor-General’s Office for the time period of October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018.
To consider the continuation of five previously VOCA grant funded Victim Advocate position in the Solicitor-General’s Special Victims Unit for the grant period.
Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Solicitor-General’s Office was awarded $194,001 from the VOCA grant this year. The grant funds are for one year, with subsequent renewal years. Required match funds for the original award amount of $48,500 will be included in the Solicitor-General’s 2018 budget. Sufficient required match funds for the remainder of calendar year 2017 are available in the Solicitor’s grant match account. No additional funds are being requested at this time.

Approve the continuation of five previously VOCA grant funded Victim Advocate positions in the Solicitor-General’s Special Victims Unit for the duration of the grant period.
