PURPOSE:
On June 7, 2006, the BOC approved the purchase of the P-25 system technology software and hardware with this supplier in the amount of $19,927,502.87. On October 23, 2012, the BOC approved the sole source in an amount not to exceed $15,194,929.79. The proprietary Motorola P-25 SmartZone Radio System, towers and modems have been used for the communications network system for over 16 years. The manufacturer is the only source with the necessary access and expertise to provide support to the communications system.

Recommended Action
Recommend approval of the sole source with:
Motorola Solutions, Inc., 1700 Belle Meade Court, Lawrenceville, GA 30043
Amount Not To Exceed: $17,299,418.67
and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the contract and all associated documents.
