PURPOSE:

Mold was discovered in the fire station living quarters and posed a serious health problem to the staff assigned to this station. On September 07, 2017 PO No. 1078126 in the amount of $93,073.35 was approved as an emergency request. Additional mold was discovered while repairs were being made, resulting in additional funds of $18,161.24 to the existing PO due to unforeseen circumstances, including additional mold remediation, repairs and electrical upgrades. Four (4) quotes were obtained for the initial emergency.

Recommend approval of the ratification with:

 

BELFOR Property Restoration, 2300 4th Street, Tucker, GA  30084

 

Amount Not To Exceed: $111,234.59

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

1.  Funding:                         General Operating - Fire Rescue Services

2.  Justification:  Per the Purchasing Policy, this in an immediate threat to the public and  

                            employees’ health.  The emergency procurement was required to reduce the 

                            amount of time service is impacted.
