PURPOSE:
To authorize payment to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) in the amount not to exceed the following listed amount, for the water and sewer installation/adjustments associated with the following project; and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute agreement that allow for the payments and to execute all necessary documents to complete this transaction:

? I-285 at SR 155/Flat Shoals Road Interchange Reconstruction remaining balance of $105,763.32 and the Supplemental Agreement in the amount of $3,882,785.41, totaling $3,988,549


NEED/IMPACT:
The GDOT project, I-285 at SR 155/Flat Shoals Road Interchange Reconstruction began construction in 2014. The project includes the widening of Flat Shoals Road to six lanes and includes the construction of a new bridge over I-285. GDOT requires the water and sewer facilities in the public right-of-way which are in conflict with the construction projects be relocated or adjusted. The County entered into a Contact Item Agreement with GDOT to include water and sewer installations/adjustments for the Flat Shoals Interchange Reconstruction project to prevent construction delays, minimized impact to adjacent property owners and the traveling public. In order to complete the project, additional relocation work was required. Therefore, the County must agree to pay the estimated cost of completing; the exact payment amount will be based on unit bid prices.
