PURPOSE:

To accept a supplemental grant in the sum of $15,850 awarded by the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to the County for the benefit of the Magistrate Court of DeKalb County’s Misdemeanor Mental Health Court, which is the county’s misdemeanor adult mental health court.  The MMHC was recently certified by the State of Georgia through December 31, 2018.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The grant funds will be used to defray costs associated with the Misdemeanor Mental Health Court’s operation, administration and treatment options for participants.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Magistrate Court is required to provide a 10% match in funds for the supplemental grant.  The match in the amount of $1,761 was requested in the county’s FY’18 projected budget.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To accept the grant funds from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for the benefit of the Magistrate Court of DeKalb County’s Misdemeanor Mental Health Court .To authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
