PURPOSE:
To transfer $100,000.00 from 2001 Parks Bond District 5 account 100632.80314.541100.05.600013 to create a Lithonia Park Development Account for a park playground.
NEED/IMPACT:
These funds are needed for the development of a playground at Lithonia Park. This new playground will replace an outdated one and will appeal to a wide age range of visitors. It will also bring the play area up to DeKalb County’s new playground surfacing standards by eliminating mulch and replacing it with pour in place rubber surfacing. The new surfacing is more sustainable and does not require the maintenance and replacement needs of mulch.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Has no fiscal impact on the 2018 Operating Budget. The total cost of this project is estimated at $400,000. Other funded sources: District 7 2001 Parks Bond $100,000, SPLOST $200,000.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
Recommend that funds in the amount of $100,000.00 be transferred from 2001 Parks Bond District 5 account 100632.80314.541100.05.600013 to create a Lithonia Park Development Account; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all the necessary documents and contracts for the completion of the project.
