PURPOSE:

To participate in the continued multi-state legal actions related to the county water supply.

NEED/IMPACT:

Continued legal action is required for this multi-state water dispute.  The county’s successful participation in the process will involve a high level of technical research as well as appropriate legal research and representation.  Failure to properly carry out this defense could result in significant changes or loss of volume of water required by the county both now and in the future.  Contract is multi-jurisdictional and needs to be signed by all parties to proceed.

FISCAL IMPACT:

One payment of $450,000.00 when invoiced for the period of July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents. DWM recommends approval and execution of contract on DeKalb County signature page and payment of $450,000.00 when invoiced for the period of July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.
