PURPOSE:

To consider approving a resolution to adopt the Service Delivery Strategy agreement between DeKalb County and its municipalities including the City of Atlanta and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents related to the Service Delivery Strategy for DeKalb County.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

In accordance with to O.C.G.A. §36-70-28(4), DeKalb County is required to update its Service Delivery Strategy based on the creation of a [new] local government (Tucker and Stonecrest).  This update needs to be complete and verified by GA Department of Community Affairs (DCA) prior to June 29, 2018.  If the Service Delivery Strategy is not submitted in proper form to DCA, the county and its municipalities will incur sanctions to include loss of the ability to receive state administered financial assistance or grants, loans, or permits.  Participants in the Service Delivery Strategy are DeKalb County, the City of Atlanta, Avondale Estates, Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville, Decatur, Dunwoody, Lithonia, Clarkston, Stone Mountain, Stonecrest, Pine Lake, and Tucker.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

An agreement with cities in DeKalb County, GA for service provision.
