PURPOSE:
To authorize payment to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) in the amount not to exceed the following listed amount, for the water and sewer installation/adjustments associated with the following project; and to authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute agreement that allow for the payments and to execute all necessary documents to complete this transaction:

? SR 212/ Browns Mill Road at CR 594/Salem Road Improvements total amount of $979,590.00

NEED/IMPACT:
The GDOT project along Browns Mill Road, between Farmingham Drive and Springtree Drive consists of the new construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Browns Mill Road and Salem Road and approximately half a mile of wheelchair accessible sidewalk, crosswalks, drainage improvements and widening of Browns Mill Road. The Department of Watershed Management has existing utilities within the construction limits that are in conflict with the proposed work or need to be replaced due to age. Therefore, the County entered into a Contact Item Agreement with GDOT to include water and sewer installations/adjustments for the Browns Mill Road and Salem Road Improvements project to prevent construction delays, minimized impact to adjacent property owners and the traveling public. The County must agree to pay the estimated cost of completing the work; the exact payment amount will be based on unit bid prices
