PURPOSE:
The purpose of this agenda item is to consider the approval of precinct boundary changes. Under Section 9(7) of the Organizational Act, the Commissioners must adopt precinct boundary changes.
NEED/IMPACT:
• Addition of Stonecrest Library Precinct and adjust the Woodrow Road Precinct boundary lines to evenly distribute the voters and eliminate overcrowding in the Woodrow Road Precinct.
In order to satisfy State Election Law Requirements and Timelines, the changes were approved by the DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections and the original agenda item (2018-1486) was published in the county legal organ on March 29, 2018 and April 5, 2018. The original agenda item was added to the April 10, 2018 Board of Commissioners Meeting Agenda by the Committee of the Whole on April 3, 2018.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This agenda item does not have any fiscal impact on the county.
