PURPOSE:
Request approval of the 2019 Medicare renewal rates.
NEED/IMPACT:
The Medicare plan year expires on December 31, 2018. To ensure that the County is offering a health plan with broad coverage at the lowest cost.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Total estimated renewal premium for 2019 is $4,449,129 for medical.
Total estimated renewal premium for 2019 is $1,082,760 for dental.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommended Action
1. Approve Aetna’s proposed 2019 Medicare 100% rate of $242.61 PMPM which is a 0% increase.
2. Approve Kaiser’s proposed 2019 Medicare 100% rate of $240.01 PMPM which is a 0% increase.
3. Approve United Concordia’s 2019 Medicare dental rates with a 0% increase.
Request approval of resolution and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
