PURPOSE:
To consider entering into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Tucker for funding the local construction match for the Tucker Streetscape project;
To consider accepting and appropriating up to $1,375,000 from the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) into project 100235 for construction of the Tucker Streetscape project;
To consider authorizing the payment of up to $90,000 to Georgia Power for relocation of overhead power lines for construction of the Tucker Streetscape project; and
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents for completion of the project.

NEED/IMPACT:
The Tucker Streetscape Project (PI # 0012617 & 0010633), which is entirely in the City of Tucker, involves construction of sidewalks and other streetscape improvements along 1st Avenue, 2nd Street, 4th Street, and Lynburn Drive. GDOT funding is available to cover 80 percent of eligible construction related costs. Under the proposed agreement, the City of Tucker will reimburse the county for construction related expenses that are not covered by GDOT funding or MARTA Offset funding. DeKalb County is the local sponsor for the project and will manage the construction.
The Board of Commissioners previously accepted $400,000 in GDOT funds for this project on September 27, 2011 and $960,000 on October 22, 2013. The additional funding includes $200,000 in Transportation Enhancement funds and $1,175,000 in Surface Transportation Block Grant funds from the Atlanta Regional Commission. These funds will be provided to DeKalb County on a reimbursable basis through GDOT.
