PURPOSE:
•To consider approving the GY2016 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to receive project equipment; and
•To consider accepting project equipment purchased by UASI on behalf of the DeKalb County Police Department in the amount of $343,908.01; and
•To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
The attached MOU governs the use of purchases and equipment provided by UASI to assist the DeKalb County Police Department to implement programs designed to prevent, protect, respond, and recover from threats of or acts of terrorism and to build capabilities that enhance homeland security. This equipment will support the DeKalb County Police Department’s, Special Operations Division.
