PURPOSE:
To accept rental revenue from the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) for the period from October 1, 2018 through December 30, 2018 totaling $193,882.14 to appropriate those funds for Facilities Management for additional deferred Operations Maintenance (O&M) work at the Sams Street Facility occupied by (DFCS).
NEED/IMPACT:
Initial funding for roof repairs at this facility were funded by the BOC on November 13, 2019. Our on-going assessment indicates the need for additional capital investment into the Sams Street facility in order to prevent further damage. The Department of Family and Children's (DFCS) currently is the primary tenant of this facility. DFCS just recently began making payments to bring their lease payments up to date. The lease proceeds to the County are needed to fund deferred and on-going Operating & Maintenance (O&M) costs for this facility which sees over 2000 unique visitors per day. There are 400 DFCS employees working at this location.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The acceptance and appropriation of DFCS rental revenue for additional deferred O&M work results in a net budget impact of zero dollars.
