PURPOSE:
To request that the Chief Audit Executive include a fiscal and performance review of the DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections Department. To ensure that all citizens of DeKalb have a right to transparent, reliable and accessible means to exercise their right to vote.
NEED/IMPACT:
In 2018, the State of Georgia and DeKalb County experienced larger than normal voter participation and turnouts. In anticipation of the 2020 elections, it may be prudent that the County commence an audit that will help to ensure our preparedness and necessary training to continue to provide transparent, reliable and accessible elections to the citizens of DeKalb County, Georgia.
