PURPOSE:
1. To consider acceptance of Georgia County Internship Grant not exceeding $2,173.00 for the intern wages from May 1, 2019 - September 1, 2019.
2. To consider authorizing the transfer of the funds when appropriate; and
3. To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary document.
NEED/IMPACT:
DeKalb County Projects & Grants Division received notification that WorkSource DeKalb was a grant recipient for the Summer 2019 Georgia Internship Program Grant. The pre-approval will permit expeditious handling in the timeline needed for proper grant execution.
The funds will be used to provide one (1) college intern with an opportunity to work with WorkSource DeKalb Youth Department. The intern will be assigned the task of creating a Social Media Resource Guidebook and/or Web Link regarding the do’s and don’t of social media and personal branding which could have a direct impact on future employment opportunities.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% funded by the Civic Affairs Foundation (an ACCG Initiative); no matching funds required.

• Acceptance of Georgia County Internship Grant not to exceed $2,173.00 for the intern wages from May 1, 2019 to September 1, 2019:
• Appropriate the amount of funds awarded to the Grant Fund;
• Authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all necessary documents.
