PURPOSE:
To consider accepting grant award in the amount of $304,810 from the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) to provide the opportunity for communities to create coordinated community responses to Domestic Violence; Sexual Assault; Dating Violence, Stalking; and Sex Trafficking.

To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer and/or his designee to execute the grant agreement and all necessary documents.

NEED/IMPACT:
The Office of Violence Against Women awarded the DeKalb County Solicitor General's Office funding under the Consolidated Youth Program to address children and youth experiencing domestic and sexual assault and engage men and boys as allies. The program provides the opportunity for communities to create coordinated community responses to increase collaboration among non-profit victim service providers; community service organizations, including those focused on engaging men as role models; schools; tribes; and local government agencies to enhance prevention, intervention, and response efforts for children, youth, and young adults impacted by sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, or sex trafficking.

The award will fund the employment of a contracted Community Education Coordinator; OVW approved trainings and technical assistance; program supplies, and program consultants. The grant does not have a match requirement. The grant Period of Performance if from October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2021. Total award is $304,810.
