PURPOSE:
For Commissioners to consider accepting grant award in the amount of $6,868 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC). The award comes as a supplement to our original award accepted by the BOC in 2018. This supplement supports trainings, conferences, and travel expenses associated with the training and conferences. There is a 25% required match, $1,717, that will be drawn from cost center 63810 account 602031/104849. The supplemental award period of performance is from January 1, 2019 through September 30, 2019
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer and/or his designee to execute the grant agreement and all necessary post-award documents requiring a signing official.
NEED/IMPACT:
CJCC aims to use all victim service dollars to maximize the provision of core services while encouraging innovative partnerships to ensure victims in all areas of the state have access to help.
Generally, CJCC uses VOCA funds as follows:
• To sustain service provision levels throughout the state,
• To ensure that crime victims across the state have access to advocacy services to ensure their rights under the Georgia Crime Victims Bill of Rights (found below) are upheld, and
• To ensure all crime victims have access to core services
The Solicitor-General’s Office was awarded a supplemental award in the amount of $6,868 to fund the cost of trainings, conferences and other professional development opportunities for the Advocates who work directly with victims.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This supplemental award will provide an additional $6,868 to the overall grants budget. This will assist in decreasing county costs for training and conferences.

Recommended Action
To approve and accept grant funds in the amount of $6,868 from CJCC.
To authorize the CEO and/or his designee to execute the grant agreement and all necessary post-award documents requiring signature from a signing official.
