PURPOSE:
To accept the Georgia Wildlife Viewing Gant in the amount of $3,000.00 from Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division
NEED/IMPACT:
Acceptance of this grant will support the effort to add a viewing platform at Arabia Mountain Park giving the public enhanced wildlife viewing opportunities. The Mountain View Wildlife Viewing Platform is to be located on the Mountain View Trail overlooking Mountain View Lake and Arabia and Bradley peaks. The platform will include an interpretive panel which will provide additional education about the park and area wildlife. The total budget for the project is $12,400 with the grant providing $3,000, and $9,400 of in-kind services to be provided by Keep DeKalb Beautiful ($1,500), Arabia Mountain Heritage Area Alliance ($6,500), and RPCA staff and volunteers ($1,400).
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact to 2019 budget.

Recommended Action
To accept the Georgia Wildlife Viewing Gant in the amount of $3,000.00 from Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute all the necessary documents for the completion of the project.
