PURPOSE:
To consider approval of Agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to provide airport engineering design and/or planning assistance to design taxiway improvements-runway incursion mitigation program (PDK-11) and,
To consider acceptance of GDOT's participation in the project in the not to exceed amount of $237,497.35 (federal and state funding); and
To consider authorizing the transfer of County matching funds when appropriates; and,
To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.
NEED/IMPACT:
The attached draft agreement provides for design taxiway improvements - runway incursion mitigation program criteria to enhance airport taxiway safety in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Circular 150/5300/13A.
The engineering design services will include the following elements of work: project formulation, survey work, geotechnical investigation, construction plans, contract documents, engineers/design report, and coordination, review and comments.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total allowable cost of the project is $252,614.00.
The cost will be shared as follows:
Federal funds $227,352.60
State funds 10,144.75
County funds 15,116.65
The cost to the county is $15,116.65. The fiscal year impact includes calendar years 2019, 2020 and 2021.
