PURPOSE:

To consider authorizing the acceptance of funds, up to $150,000, for the remainder of fiscal year 2019 and in perpetuity, for the Veterans Treatment Court Collection of Participant Fees into a new Grant Fund Account.

 

NEED/IMPACT:

Each Veterans Treatment Court participant is responsible for $25 per week in treatment fees which is payable over the approximate 18 months that he/she is in the program.  Participants will not begin accruing and/or paying participant fees until he/she have reached Phase 2 of this five phase program.  In Phase 2, participants are expected to have stabilized in treatment and obtain employment.  The fees are used to  offset costs for supportive services, including drug abuse treatment, mental health treatment, supplies, and other components necessary to sustain the program. 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Veterans Treatment Court participant is responsible for $25 per week in treatment fees which is payable over the approximate 18 months that he/she is in the program. Funds will be placed in a new grant fund account to be used to offset costs for the Veterans Treatment Court program for the remainder of 2019 and in perpetuity.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommended Action

To approve the resolution and authorize the chief executive officer to execute all necessary documents. Authorize the acceptance of up to $150,000 in funds, for the remainder of 2019 and in perpetuity, into a new Veterans Treatment Court Collection of Participant Fees Account into a new Grant Fund Account.
