PURPOSE:

•To consider approving the FY2016 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to receive project equipment; and 
•To consider accepting project equipment purchased by UASI on behalf of the DeKalb County Fire Department in the amount of $187,656.00; and
•To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.

 

 

NEED/IMPACT:

The grant will enable the Fire Department to minimize the risk of injury to fire and rescue personnel deployed in active shooting incidents.  The attached MOU governs the use of purchases and equipment provided by UASI.  It will assist the DeKalb County Fire Department to implement programs designed to prevent, protect, respond, and recover from threats of or acts of terrorism and to build capabilities that enhance homeland security.
