PURPOSE:
1. To consider acceptance of the WIOA FY 2018 grant of an additional $108,000 for employment and training activities for Dislocated Worker programs.
2. To consider authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to execute the necessary documents.

NEED/IMPACT:
We received a Statement of Grant Award from the Technical College System of Georgia (TSCG), awarding an additional $108,000 for Fiscal Year 2018 Dislocated Worker program activities. This will allow us to cover costs for reimbursement of participants enrolled in employment and training activities between October 01, 2018 and June 30, 2019. TCSG determines the allocations for WorkSource DeKalb. This approval will permit WorkSource DeKalb to accept the additional funds for continued program services.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides Dislocated Workers for employment and training activities. These funds will be used to provide citizens of DeKalb with job search assistance, labor market information, occupational trend information, resume preparation, and assistance in identifying employment opportunities available through both online and direct job sites. In addition, funding will be used to provide interest and aptitude assessments and occupational skills training opportunities for WIOA eligible customers. No funds have been received or expended and no workforce activities are being conducted for the above-mentioned grants.

The additional FY18 funding will serve approximately 11 Dislocated Workers in DeKalb County...
