PURPOSE:
This software consists of the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch’s® (IAED™) unified fire priority protocol system used by emergency dispatchers to give lifesaving instructions when citizens call for help. This proprietary technology will standardize how emergency fire dispatchers communicate with callers, helping them logically prioritize the dispatch process and actions, which would in turn improve the emergency response systems and reduce the County’s exposure to liability. The County has been utilizing various modules of this software since 2004. The County’s Medical Priority Dispatch Protocol policy requires the use of the EMD protocols.
